Corrs to advertise for drinks giant

PEPSI CHALLENGE... Dundalk group The Corrs have signed up to advertise
for Pepsi
IRISH family group The Corrs are the latest hit group to sign
up to advertise Pepsi.
The pop act follows in the footsteps of the Spice Girls and Saffron
from Republica with a year-long deal rumoured to be worth as much
as £500,000.
The Corrs, as well as another band Five will be used for British
advertising and promotion throughout 1999, starting in January.
Five have scored success in the United States and worldwide as
well as at home in Britain with songs like Slam Dunk Da Funk and
When The Lights Go Out.
The Corrs, three sisters and a brother from Dundalk with many
musical talents, have sold three million copies of their two albums
so far, with single hits Dreams and What Can I Do.
Britvic Soft Drinks marketing director Andrew Marsden said: In
line with the Pepsi tradition, our consumers will again benefit
from exclusive opportunities that bring them closer to their favourites.
The Spice Girls released one of their singles exclusively to Pepsi
customers and even played their first live concert for Pepsi competition
winners in Istanbul, Turkey.
Boyzone is another act who have been associated with Pepsi in
the past.
Michael Jacksons long association with the brand was rumoured
to have earned him £30 million.
